New Year's Resolutions! (Blog Challenge)

WOW I can't believe its almost 2007! Where does the time go??? I had a really GREAT year I'd have to say...I met two awesome girls in person. One was Jen and the other is Bree. We have become really close and had lots of fun together. Bree and I met in Feb. I went to a class up at Memory Lane. She was teaching the class and we both just started chit chatting and since then have become very close friends, talk all the time and now shes having my baby hahaha JK! Jen came to visit back in April. We stayed over at the Hilton in Albuquerque, went to the stamping convention, Santa Fe, ate yummy food and had a blast. And now shes about to have my baby as well LOL! Then in November Anthony and I flew out to visit Jen and her family. It was the first time visiting San Jose and the first time at the beach and It was awesome and Jen and her family treated us like a queen and king. At this time we also visited Santa Cruz (which I LOVE) and San Francisco.

In the last year I also have made great friends with a few other girls on Pixies and am very thankful for all of your friendship and hoping to met you all in Vegas in (April) 2007! In the last year I also have lost 3 of my what I thought were my "best friends" at one point and losing them meaning we just stopped talking or was a bunch of drama included. Which I think was better for me in the long run because I don't need all the drama in my life. But other then that I have had a GREAT and FUN year and hoping this next year is even better!

I have been thinking of some New Year Resolutions and here they are...

  1. lose weight
  2. exercising
  3. eat healthy
  4. make apt for Dr's I've been avoiding
  5. meet the pixie girls

I believe I can do all of this if I just put my heart and soul into it..This last few weeks my Mom found out she had diabetes and it really scares me and if I can avoid it I need to and get up and better myself this next year. I never made Resolutions but I am ready and willing to stick to these top 5 and I am gonna win hehe!

WOO HOO! Another Snow Day!!!

It started snowing about 10:30am it was very slushy and not really sticking then about 12 - 1 it started sticking and snowing and snowing and snowing some more. It is already 10:17pm and STILL has not stopped. We have got 10.8 inches of snow and its not over. I just finished watching the news and we have hit record since 1958 this is way crazy. I haven't felt good all day long I think a cold is slowly coming on. My head feels stuffy and my nose and I keep coughing. What a weekend to hit....but I guess with all this snow we wont be going anywhere. I know that I will be bundling up tomorrow sometime and going out to build a snowman sick or not IAM GOING! I have not built a snowman in such a long time...so it will be fun and Ant will be home to play too WOO HOO! (will have fun snow pics soon!) This was a VERY pretty picture that someone posted on the news site that they showed on the tv tonight

Took Dixie to the Vet

Last week I made an apt for Dixie to go to a new Vet. My brother told me that Tyson's dad is a Veterinarian so I thought I'd try him out. The old one is just not doing it and it seems like Dixie is getting worse. So this morning Anthony and I took her to Arrow Animal Hospital in Los Lunas. Dr. Cosper was great he told us all these different things that could be wrong with her and the things he noticed that needed to be taken care of but that were not something that had to be done right now. She has a tumor in her mouth and her teeth need to be cleaned really bad but since that is not really important right now he wanted to do an X-ray and some blood work to make sure her kidneys, liver and all that was ok and to make sure that she didn't have heart failure of some sort. For the past few days I was so worried about her and didn't think she would make it or we would have to put her down. We left her there for about 1hr and then went back. He came in with all the test and told us everything looked great except for a few things. Her heart is enlarged and she does have a toroid which is making her gain weight and smell really bad and also making her skin peel all over her body. He put her on 4 different medications.
  • Enalapril 5mg tab
  • Thyrosyn 4mg
  • Lasix
  • Digoxin

She is also on a diet. She is to eat 1 cup, twice daily of PVD OM overweight management dog food. This food is suppose to be the fastest and most resulful food for dogs to lose weight. She has a list of snacks she can eat. She weights 44 pounds right now but by April we are hoping to get her to 30 pounds. I can not even imagine Dixie being that small again haha! But it will be so nice and she will feel so much better! I can't wait till then. She has been so sluggish and you can just tell she doesn't feel good at all. I have to take her back in 2 weeks to weight her in so we shell see how shes doing then and if she lost any weight. Fluffy can also eat this food which makes it easier for us. I have to go into the Vet on Sat and take a picture of Dixie to hang on the wall with all the other little doggies that are doing this diet also. Its so cute they have before and after pictures of some of the dogs that have lost weight. I can't wait for Dixie to get to her goal.

When we were done at the Vets office we went and met Gary, Anna, JoJo and My Grandmother at the new Train in Los Lunas. We rode it to Albuquerque and walked downtown to this little diner then walked some more. Ate some ice cream at cold stone. Then headed back to the train station to catch the train back home. It is very nice and very fast instead of driving to town. We had fun and I hope to get the pictures from Gary soon so I can post them here.

Merry Christmas

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!

Today was a fun day...Anthony and I got up a little late and was a little late getting to Gary's house (my cousin). All the Dad's family was getting together there to eat and open gifts. We didn't get there till about 12:30PM. We all sat around ate some really good food. Turkey, beans, tamales, enchiladas and so much more. After everyone was done eating Gary sat next to the tree and started handing out gifts. Tara (my cousins) boyfriend Ricky picked me this year and got me to little wooden boxes...I will probably use one of them for jewelry boxes and maybe alter the other. I will have to look at it a little better and see if its do-able. Berlinda (my aunt) got Anthony...blah!!! She gave him some bear bread mix, peanuts, a candy snowman bar, a little calendar (like you put inside your purse) and 2 lottery tickets and THATS IT!!! Everyone was suppose to at least spend $25 dollars and she didn't spend that on him at all. She pulls this crap year after year and its just wrong. I am not at all trying to sound greedy but if you agree to be in the gift exchange and spend $25 then spend it its not that hard. We always buy more then that and so does everyone else. She never does and because of this we will not be picking names with anyone its just not right and if she ever picks me and pulls that I would be very MAD and will say something. Poor Ant he was disappointed. We left Gary's around 6PM to come home and met with Doug and Sandie they wanted to drop off our gifts. They came by and we opened our gifts they got Anthony a basketball goal and a 49ers hoodie. I got a $40 gift card to hobby lobby and some little piggies for my kitchen. When they left we headed on back to Gary's house they had a bomb fire we hung out and talked and then came home.

Merry Christmas Eve

Today Anthony and I woke up early and headed out around 10:30 to Edith's house (I used to babysit her 4 girls when I was in High School). Vanessa was down from San Jose and Vanna was down from Portales so I got to visit with them for a while. It was really nice. I can't believe how grown up Vanessa and Vanna are. And the twins OH MY they are soo tall...a few inches more and they will be as tall as I am! I feel soo old knowing that I used to babysit them when Juanita and Mariah were still in diapers...man how time flies. I made all the girls these little gifts with little avon lotions, shower gel and chapsticks...

Edith gave me some really cute snowmen that she made out of pots and some brownie mix.

We stayed there and visited for about 2 hrs then headed to Belen to visit Anthonys parents for a while. We gave them their gifts and they gave us a card with money. We got home around 3ish and cleaned the house because my parents were coming over to open gifts. At around 6pm we went over to my parents house for dinner. They made turkey, mac n cheese, mashed potatos, veggies, bread, chili and salad. WOW the Turkey was the best I have EVER eaten it was so tender and juicy YUM!!!! After we ate dinner we all came over to my house to open gifts. We planned it that way because my Mom didn't put up a tree till the last minute and most of the gifts were here. So we made hot cocoa sat around the tree and opened gifts. There was paper EVERYWHERE! we had such a fun time opening gifts and laughing and talking. I got lots of cool gifts...

  • an electric toothbrush by oral B

  • a scale

  • some piggies for my kitchen

  • camera

  • The little Mermaid movie

  • money

I had a great Christmas eve night with the family! Fluffy even opened her own bones! Dixie usually does to but she wasn't feeling good so she was under my chair sleeping the whole time.

Dinner w/MaryJane

We slept in a little late today then around 3pm started getting ready to go to Maryjane's house to have dinner with her and Bill and open gifts. We left the house around 4pm because we had to stop at JcPenny to pick up our pictures that we had taken. We did that then got to MaryJane's house about 6:30. We all sat down and talked and then ate dinner she made us roast beef, veggies, mashed potatoes and this homemade bread that was to DIE for it was sooooo soooo yummy! Oh and I can't forget the pumpkin pie for dessert! After we were done there we all sat in the living room and opened out gifts. She got me this HUGE scrapbook kit from Costco and a calendar kit along with some embellishments and such on the side. They got Anthony a $40 gift card for Hastings. She loved the calendar that I made her and her husband loved the clipboard I made him also...we also got them a gift card to go out to eat at Applebee's. So we hung out for a while more and then left back home. We had a great time!!!

Here is my gift from MaryJane and Bill...

This is the clipboard I altered for Bill....the calendar I did for MaryJane I will have to combine the pics together and post later..

Here are the pics from Jc Penny that me, Anthony and my brother took.

I went Shopping!!!!

I got up at around 9 this morning and WOW that snow looked soooo pretty all just laying there on the ground but then as the day went by it started to melt away. Anthony was gone off to work I assumed. Then about 1/2 later he was back home telling me that there was no work today because the roads were so icy. WOO HOO! I thought shopping day for me! The doggies got groomed and I got ready. About 1 or 2pm me and Anthony headed out to the dollar tree to go pick up some more wisks we only found 2. We went to eat at Tastee Freeze it was yummy I had a chicken basket. Headed then to Walgreen for some Hersey kisses then finally to Fashion Bug. There were lots of clearance racks and I never find anything on sale but I thought I'd look anyways...I got lots of shirts to try on and a pair of jeans. I ended out picking about 5 shirts and the pair of jeans. I was so happy I never find jeans that fit me there but I did this time! Anthony had given me $100 bucks to spend so I could buy clothes for Christmas. I paid $80 bucks for everything then went next door to Big 5 to see if I could find some shoes. I got these New Balance ones they are white with gray and pink trim I like them! They were on sale for $39 reg. $80. I came out really good on everything today.

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow...

I didn't wake up till about 10am this morning. I couldn't beleive I slept that late. Last night I didnt go to bed till about 1. My dumb computer kept giving me trouble and wouldnt let me check my email. I did the update for yahoo and what do you know it WORKED! Anyways, It was really cloudy and all and about 1 hour later it started snowing!!! It was sooo pretty! I got some pictures of it all from when it started till it finished at around 4:45pm. Here is the last picture I took we got about 5-6 inches. I just know tomorrow it will all be melted and muddy but for now I just love it!

I am a little worried for my brother him and a few friends left Sat evening to colorado to go snow boarding. They were to come back today. Since all the snow I am a little worried and hope they are ok on the road. I talked to my Mom this afternoon and my brother lost the keys to his truck so he had to have his truck towed into town and get another key made for his truck. Both his phone and his friends phone were dead...not very smart since the weather is this way and they may need them for emergency...ugh BOYS! I guess he had a little charge on his phone called my mom and told her they were sleeping in the truck tonight because of the weather or whatever and they didn't have money. I really wish he would have called me I would have gotten him a room. I don't know the whole story so who knows I just hope they are ok and warm!

Christmas Cards

My Mom needed a few "fancy" cards to give a few of her friends. I went to Hobby Lobby and they had all their Christmas crafts for 50% off so I picked up the Christmas balls. I think they are by Jolee's. After seeing how pretty they came out I should have gotten more. I made up 3 and she loved them!

Christmas Tags

The last few weeks I have been busy making lots of gifts and little goodies for Christmas. Here are a few of the tags I made to hang on gifts and give to a few friends.

Blog Challenge - Someone In Need

There is this little boy of a family that I know. If I could do something I'd try to get his parents counseling or try to find a new home for him. His parents are both alcoholics and they are always fighting. This little boy is only 2-4 years old and its so sad because even he doesn't want to go home because he says my mom and dad always fight. It's really sad. I can just imagine this little boy gets no attention in his home. But, there is really nothing I can do because of the drama of it all. I don't think it would be worth it on my part to much to deal with. But if I had the money and the power I probably would try.

Another long day

Today, Anthony and I got up around 7:30 and got ready to go take our Christmas pictures at Jc Penny. Our appt. was at 10:20. My brother met us there also so I could also take pictures with him also since we never really had them done together before. We got there and we went into where they take the pictures. I was kind of bugged because they didn't have alot of Christmas backgrounds to choose from just a gold christmas tree with green ugly background and a fireplace BORING! So we just took it in front of white. I think that it was very unprofessional for it being a professional studio. The girl was like sit here and put your arm here and thats it. She didnt even tell us to sit stright to have our heads stright or anything. After we were done taking the pictures we went to look at them on the computer. I really didnt like them our heads were turned weird ways and just were not right. I picked two of the ones that I liked and that was it. Mine and my brothers were about $18 and mine and Anthonys were $27. I don't know if I should call and complain or just leave it since it was so cheep. I got all the pictures sent to me online which wont be online between 7-10 days. I was so unpleased with them I know I will never go back.

When we were done there Anthony and I headed to the cricket place to get me a new phone since our t-mobile phones will be shut off on the 30th. It's just so expensive for me to keep that service alone. So blah I have to go back to Cricket which isnt bad because its only $50 but the phones totally suck! I ended out getting one and it wasnt working right. I took it back they traded it out for me and we left and that one wasnt working either. I called and he said for me to take it back and he would give me the money back. So I guess he didnt need the money lol. I took it back and got my money then we went to the main cricket store and I ended out getting the Nokia 6165i. I really don't like it but I don't really have a choice. I guess I will get used to it...man I am going to miss my razor phone.

When we were done with that we went to Anthony's Dr apt and finally were done at around 5:30pm. Came home and watched the Wizard of Oz and now almost ready for bed. I hope tomorrow I can scrap and rest a little...I am beat!

Peanut Butter Cup day!

I felt very lazy today. I guess from the busy weekend. I got up hung out online for most of the morning. Then around 1ish I got started on the peanut butter cup making. I didn't make as much as I wanted to but I will have to do some more sometime this week or weekend. They came out so yummy as usual heres a picture of them. My back was hurting me so bad we did alot! After I finished cleaning up the kitchen I got some cards and some gifts ready to send off in the mail on monday.

Here is the recipe for the peanut butter cup filling...

1lb. powdered sugar
1 stick of margarine or butter
2 cups of peanut butter (smooth or chunky)

Making the cups ~ Pour a small amount of melted chocolate coating or tempered chocolate into the bottom of a paper candy cup or plastic mold. Roll the peanut butter filling into balls about 1/2 inch in size, and flatten slightly. Place on top of cooled chocolate in candy cups or molds, allowing room on all sides for the chocolate to flow. Cover with coating or chocolate, and allow to set at room temperature or in the refrigerator until firm. Store in a cool dry place.

Longggg weekend

This was a very long weekend...Friday I left with my Mom and Grandma Christmas shopping at about 9am. It was a LONG day with them two crazy shopping women haha! But it was fun. I got a few more gifts for Anthony so that was good. Bree called me around 4:00-4:30 to say she was on her way to the hotel. So when we got all done at the mall we headed over and my Mom dropped me off at the Mariott. I had never stayed there at that hotel and WOW it was awesome...the rooms were so comfy! BIG huge pillows and down comforters and bath and body shampoo/conditioner and body wash it was awesome! And the beds were SUPER soft...just like one big fluffy cloud. Bree and I gave eachother Christmas gifts and opened them all up...she got me some cute things and I loved the glittery basket and the photo frame of us its so cute! its all great THANK YOU BREE your so sweet! After we opened our gifts we started taking out all our scrap goodies. I made a few tag sets and Bree worked on a Scrapbook for a client...we had that room FULL of goodies it was so much fun. We talked and laughed. We ordered room service because we didnt want to go anywhere we had these yummy club sandwiches and a DELICIOUS caramel apple pie OMG it was to die for!!! Then we went on and scrapped more finally about 1am we were so tired and picked up all our mess and off to our clouds hehe! I woke up around 9:30 or so. Bree was in the shower and then when she got out I got in. At 11am she took me down the road to met MaryJane at the church we met at once a month to scrap with the craft girls. I worked on a few more tag sets till about 4pm. Anthony picked me up and I went to get my hair cut...I love it I cut about 2 1/2 inches off she had combed it so cute. Of course I cant do the same thing she did but oh well I still love it got all those lose stringy hairs out of the way! Anthony and I headed to Applebee's for dinner and went to a few stores. I was so tired I dont know how I made it to the stores but I did haha! What a great weekend it was!

Oh and I didn't take ANY pics of us scrapping I sooo regreat it now :(

I seen all the other girls Christmas trees on Pixies and they are so full of pretty ornaments so, on Sunday I am going to get some more decorations out and fill it all up! We finally bought a Christmas train to go around the tree as well this year...since I am selling Avon I bought the one from Avon and it's sooooo adorable. I have wanted a train for such a long time now and I finally got one WOOT! Here are two pics one with the lights off and another with my doggie fluffy sitting under it...she's so funny she must have liked it because she kept going under it. Unless I have her trained and she new I was going to want a pic with her in it with the tree. haha!
